The number
Every pair that leaves the House is numbered — not as decoration, but as record-keeping. The number ties the piece to its production entry: the hide lot, the finishing date, the hands that closed it. This is how the house has always worked; VERANI simply never stopped.
What the number is not
The number is not an edition count and not a marketing device. Production is limited by decision rather than constraint — the House makes what it can make to its standard, and no more — but the number exists because a piece without a record is a piece the House cannot answer for.
